Traditional Iftar Hosted by Military Mufti Hadžić

(Patria) - Organized by Military Mufti Nesib-ef. Hadžić, the traditional iftar of the Military Mufti's Office was held this evening at the House of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event was attended by numerous representatives of the military, diplomatic, political, and religious life of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Among the guests were the Deputy Ministers of Defense of BiH Slaven Galić and Aleksandar Goganović, Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović, Deputy Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Dr. Enes Ljevaković, Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH, Lieutenant General Gojko Knežević, Deputy Chiefs of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH, Major General Mirsad Ahmić and Major General Tomo Kolenda.

Also present were the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew Valas, the Commander of EUFOR, Major General Florin-Marian Barbu, generals of the AF BiH, Assistant Ministers of Defense, members of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, and numerous other dignitaries and guests.



Military Mufti Hadžić thanked the attendees for coming, emphasizing the uniqueness of this Ramadan, during which believers of Catholic, Orthodox, and Islamic faiths are simultaneously practicing fasting.

He stressed that this diversity represents the richness of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Chief Chaplain of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) Chaplain, Brigadier Christopher Lapack, also addressed the attendees, conveying greetings from the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli.

Chaplain Lapack particularly emphasized the importance of cooperation among military chaplains in the armed forces.

The Deputy Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, Dr. Enes Ljevaković, in his address, specifically welcomed the representatives of the international community, NATO Headquarters, and EUFOR, thanking them for their contribution to establishing and preserving peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Joint iftars, which have become a tradition in the BiH defense system, provide an opportunity for mutual acquaintance and better understanding of the diversity that constitutes the richness of Bosnian-Herzegovinian society.
