The Anti-Terrorism Task Force initiated today's meeting of members of the Council of Ministers, Chief Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina Goran Salihović, representatives of all police agencies at the entity and state level, and the OSA, writes the Patria news agency.
The meeting in Sarajevo was organized with the aim of assessing the security aspect of a possible refugee crisis that could also affect Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For now, there are no clear indications that Syrian refugees from Serbia could head towards Bosnia and Herzegovina on their way to Western European countries. However, such a possibility has not been ruled out.
Therefore, today, staffs and a Coordination Committee were formed, whose task will be to receive refugees, if this occurs. Very soon, it will be necessary to define which facilities are suitable for their accommodation.
This meeting and the activities that will be undertaken send a message to all those who intend to engage in smuggling Syrian refugees into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our country, it was stated, has mechanisms and ways to respond to this type of crime.
