Decision on Djokovic on Monday, he remains in quarantine at the hotel

(Patria) - The fate of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will be known on Monday, when the Federal Court will make a decision on his stay in Australia.

The world's number one player was detained upon arrival in Australia, after which local authorities decided to revoke his visa, and shortly thereafter a decision on deportation was made. Australian authorities did not want to allow Djokovic to stay in the country based on the submitted documentation regarding non-vaccination, although according to media reports, three tennis players entered with the same documentation.  

Djokovic's team appealed this decision, and after a brief review, judge Anthony Taylor decided that a hearing on Djokovic's case would be held on Monday.

It will then be known whether Djokovic will have the opportunity to compete in the first Grand Slam tournament of 2022.

While awaiting the decision, Novak is staying in a hotel that serves as a reception center for refugees and quarantine for those entering Australia. His team is requesting that he be allowed to train so that, in the event of a positive decision, he will be ready to compete at the Australian Open.
