SEADA PALAVRIĆ DEPARTS - Larisa Velić to Take Office as Constitutional Court Judge on May 30

(Patria) - Newly elected judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH Larisa Velić will give and sign a solemn declaration in accordance with Article 82 of the Rules of the Constitutional Court of BiH at the 158th plenary session to be held on May 30, 2025, it was confirmed by the Constitutional Court of BiH for the Patria News Agency.

She will replace Seada Palavrić at the Constitutional Court of BiH, who turned 70 in November 2024, and the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament confirmed the appointment of Velić as a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH at its session on April 3.

"Namely, according to the provision of Article 82 of the Rules, each elected judge, before taking office at the first session of the Constitutional Court in the Plenary session attended by that judge or, if necessary, before the President of the Constitutional Court, gives and signs a solemn declaration as prescribed by that provision of the Rules," the Constitutional Court of BiH notes.

On the same day, the plenary session of the Constitutional Court will also elect a new president of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with Article 83 of the Rules of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The current President of the Constitutional Court of BiH is Seada Palavrić.

The 158th plenary session of the Constitutional Court of BiH is scheduled for May 29 and 30.

Larisa Velić is the current Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Zenica.
