Hodžić's defense claims prosecutor exceeded original indictment

(Patria9 - The trial of Fikret Hodžić and his company F. H. Srebrena malina continued at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At today's hearing, the defense commented on the amended indictment read by prosecutor Džermin Pašić at the previous hearing.

Fikret Hodžić's lawyer, Mirna Avdibegović, stated that the prosecutor abused the BiH Court's act requesting the indictment to be adjusted, and that it is now a completely new indictment.

She noted that in addition to the Court's recommendation to clarify ambiguities regarding the criminal offense of abuse of position, for which the Constitutional Court stated that the accused was unaware of the charges, the prosecutor also included the criminal offense of money laundering in the new indictment, for which all defendants were legally acquitted.
She stated that the prosecutor did this with the intention of retaining the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH in this case.

Prosecutor Džermin Pašić denied the defense's claims and asserted that the original indictment was not exceeded.

He accused the defense of "interpreting the Constitutional Court's decision" and deliberately prolonging the process.

In support of his claims, he cited the fact that the defense has no proposals for new evidence, "which means they have been defending themselves against these criminal offenses from the beginning".
Avdibegović stated that the defense is not interpreting the Constitutional Court's decision but is citing it in its entirety, unlike the prosecutor who "reads it up to the comma, and omits the second part".

The next hearing, scheduled for February 25, is planned for closing arguments in this case.
