Elektroprivreda BiH's request rejected - FERK: Electricity price remains the same

(Patria) - The Energy Regulatory Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – FERK, held a session today where a decision was made not to approve JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. – Sarajevo's proposal for the prices of supplying end customers by the public supplier, FERK announced.

- After a careful analysis of the submitted price proposal, FERK determined that the proposal is not in accordance with the methodology for determining prices for supplying electricity to end customers by the public and reserve supplier, the statement added.

Namely, the mentioned proposal is not in accordance with Article 18, Paragraph (1) of the Rulebook on the Methodology for Determining Prices for Supplying Electricity to End Customers by the Public and Reserve Supplier, which stipulates, among other things, that the public supplier is obliged to take into account the avoidance of sudden price changes for end customers supplied by the public supplier.

Furthermore, Article 15, Paragraph (2) of the rulebook stipulates that supply costs amount to a maximum of 15 percent of the total energy procurement cost for supplying end customers, and based on the data submitted for the period from June 10 to December 31, 2024, it was determined that this cost is higher than 15 percent, which is not in accordance with the methodology.

- Since the data on planned electricity consumption within individual blocks (green, blue, red) were not submitted with the price proposal, the submitted data on the proposed increase in the total price of the public supplier's service for customers in the household consumption category by 9.8 percent, as well as the proposed increase in energy price by 19 percent, cannot be verified, and therefore confirmed, the statement said.

Given this, the conditions for FERK's approval of the proposal have not been met, and FERK has determined the supply prices based on the Decision on Tariff Rates for Users of the Distribution System of this public enterprise and the bases used for calculating the prices that are currently in effect.

For users of the public service of supplying end customers of JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. – Sarajevo, prices remain the same – FERK emphasized.
