SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Steering Board of the Bar Association of the Federation of BiH at today's session rejected the proposal of lawyer Senad Pećanin for the Steering Board to pass a Decision requesting the President and all members of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) to submit irrevocable resignations, as well as the proposal for all members of the Bar Association of FBiH to go on strike.
"At the session, full support was given to the work of HJPC member Amila Kunosić, who represents the interests of the Bar Association of the Federation of BiH," stated the press release of the Bar Association of FBiH.
Lawyer Pećanin stated in a letter sent to the Steering Board of the Bar Association that honorable and moral professionals, whom he wishes to believe constitute the vast majority of prosecutors, judges, and lawyers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, no longer have the right to remain silent and turn a blind eye to the misdeeds of the "well-connected" who have undermined public trust in the work of the judiciary.
"Especially we lawyers do not, given our rich, daily experience of the inability to realize and protect the rights of our clients precisely because of the state our judiciary has been brought to."
