(Patria) - On August 19, 2024, citizens will be able to see increased movement of EUFOR vehicles on the roads from the Brod/Slavonski Brod border crossing to the Butmir base in Sarajevo. These activities are related to the arrival of the Austrian Maneuver Company in Bosnia and Herzegovina and are part of the regular rotation of EUFOR members.
After arrival and integration into the EUFOR structure, the first task this company will receive is participation in the exercise “Quick Response”, an annual large-scale EUFOR training held from August 24 to September 16.
EUFOR is a strong, capable, and reliable partner and remains committed to supporting BiH authorities in maintaining a safe and secure environment.
In the period from August 24 to September 16, residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina can expect increased movement of soldiers, patrols, and other activities, as well as the transport of reserve force equipment and helicopter flights throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, mainly in the areas of Čapljina, Glamoč, Livno, Orašje, Pazarić, Sarajevo, Tuzla, Ustikolina, as well as at the border crossings Brod, Klobuk, Metaljka, and Svilaj. Some of these activities may be large-scale or take place during the night.
EUFOR is taking all measures to ensure the exercise has as little impact on the public as possible. Local authorities and the public will be informed in a timely manner about any EUFOR movement in their vicinity through our liaison and observation teams and press releases. EUFOR is a strong, capable, and reliable partner and remains committed to supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining a safe and secure environment.
