From war scars to Brazil: Edin Džeko writes a new chapter for BiH

The BiH national football team is increasingly attracting the attention of world media, and CNN has published an interesting report on Edin Džeko, a Manchester City player and member of the BiH football team, reports the Patria news agency.

Edin Džeko talks to a CNN journalist about his life and success, and the journalist begins with a story about the war.

- You're asking me about the war again – sighed the 28-year-old footballer, rolling his eyes and smiling in the picturesque Sarajevo suburb of Ilidža – CNN writes.

CNN also notes that his mother once saved this brilliant footballer's life by calling him into the house just before a shell fell on a playground where a massacre of children occurred in Sarajevo.

- I have always been close to my country and couldn't wait to wear the BiH jersey. We went through a lot, but I think we came out stronger from it all – said Džeko, explaining that he never dreamed he would be where he is today.
