Since the beginning of the year, 101 cars stolen in Sarajevo, 46 recovered

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the Sarajevo Canton area, 101 cars have been stolen since the beginning of the year, and 46 cars have been recovered. 

In June of this year, 15 criminal acts of grand theft auto were committed. Eight were found, of which the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton returned three vehicles, the Police Station Kakanj one, and four motor vehicles were found by their owners.

The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton states that the number of thefts has decreased compared to last year. 

Police officers submitted official reports to the competent prosecutor's office against two individuals due to reasonable suspicion that they participated in the theft of motor vehicles.

In the month of May, 21 vehicles were stolen, and 12 were recovered, of which four vehicles were recovered by the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, one by the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, two by other ministries of interior, and owners found five vehicles. In April, 29 vehicles were stolen, 12 recovered; in March, nine were stolen and five recovered; in February, ten cars were stolen and three recovered. In January, 17 vehicles were stolen, and six were recovered.
