Of 42 representatives, 28 had no activity in the BiH Parliament

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH (PA) has not held a single session since December 6 last year, when it was constituted, until today. This was certainly not a barrier for representatives to do their job, send parliamentary questions, propose laws or agenda items.

Nevertheless, according to data prepared by the expert service of the PA BiH, a very small number of representatives were active.

The most active parliamentarian in the period from December 6, 2018, to May 6, 2019, was Damir Arnaut (SBB), who asked 104 parliamentary questions, proposed one law, three initiatives, plus three agenda items.

Besides Arnaut, Saša Magazinović (SDP) was also active with 49 parliamentary questions and two proposed agenda items. Edita Đapo from SBB had 14 questions, while other parliamentarians had one to two activities, or even no activity at all. Out of a total of 42 parliamentarians in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, 28 representatives had no activity.

It has been more than half a year since the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been in session due to political blockades. Since the day this legislative body was constituted, state representatives have regularly received salaries, per diems, and allowances, which reach up to six times the average salary paid in BiH.

The House of Peoples of the PA BiH also shows a dismal statistic. Denis Bećirović (SDP) and Zlatko Miletić (DF) had one activity each, while the remaining 13 delegates recorded no activity. The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH was formed on February 28, 2019.
