Search for missing man on Stupčanica suspended: Civil Protection boat capsized, teams exhausted

(Patria) - The Civil Protection of Olovo announced that they are temporarily suspending the search for the missing person who fell into the Stupčanica river last night.

After searching Stupčanica, the search continued today in the Krivaja river. The reason for the temporary suspension of the search is bad weather conditions and the exhaustion of the teams. At one point, the boat also capsized. Police teams continue to search.

- The Olovo Civil Protection team had an accident during the search, a boat capsized in the swollen river, and they lost some equipment, but fortunately, all team members are well.

According to the head of the Olovo Civil Protection service, Kemal Hodžić, the search is hampered by the inaccessible terrain around the water, and the muddy and swollen Krivaja river.

Civil Protection teams will briefly interrupt the search due to exhaustion, while police teams continue the search - they announced.

Teams with boats, water rescuers, firefighters, as well as members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton, specifically the Olovo Police Station and Special Police, have searched more than 15 km of the Krivaja riverbed from the moment of the report until this afternoon.

In addition to the police, the Olovo Civil Protection team is also involved in the search for the missing male person who fell into the river during the past night.
