
(Patria) - Due to an increase in the number of patients with upper respiratory tract infections, visits to the General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" Sarajevo are temporarily suspended starting Friday, January 12, 2024, the Crisis Staff of this healthcare institution decided today.
Visits will only be allowed for severely ill patients, with prior approval from the head of the department and maximum adherence to epidemiological measures.
The epidemiological situation is continuously monitored and measures are being taken, all with the aim of protecting the health of patients and our staff, the General Hospital announced.
Otherwise, the number of patients with respiratory infections, as well as Covid-19, has increased in Sarajevo. However, the competent health services, as well as the Institute of Public Health, have not released specific numbers or recommendations to the public.
The Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH has stated that the use of antibiotics has significantly increased in recent years.
