Record number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays in Sarajevo during New Year's holidays, most guests from the region

(Patria) - During the New Year's holidays, from December 29 to January 2, according to statistical data from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, we recorded an increase of 10% in arrivals and 8% in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.

Based on hotel reservations, which had an occupancy rate of over 97%, the majority of guests were from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Turkey, and China.

Following the New Year's celebrations on December 30 and 31, the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board organized three free outdoor concerts on January 2, 3, and 4, with the aim of increasing tourist arrivals and encouraging longer stays. According to statistical data, in the period from December 29 to January 5, Sarajevo was visited by 30% more tourists, and nearly 23% more overnight stays were realized compared to the same period last year.

Since Sarajevo hosted the longest New Year's celebration, with five nights of free outdoor concerts, we also recorded a longer tourist stay, which amounts to 2.2 days. With this richer offer, we have made a step forward in extending tourist stays.
