(Patria) - Transfermarkt has published a list of clubs with the highest transfer profit in the 21st century so far.
The calculation included transfers with player sales and purchases in this century, and clubs from Portugal have proven to be extremely adept at bringing in players for less money, only to profit later through transfers.
Benfica profited the most with 722 million, while Porto is in second place with 672 million euros.
Ajax is in third place on the list with 584 million euros in profit.
Also on the list are Lille, Sporting, Salzburg, Udinese, River Plate, and among the top ten is Dinamo Zagreb with a profit of 334 million euros.
This was most contributed to by the transfers of Joško Gvardiol to RB Leipzig (36.8 million), Marko Pjaca to Juventus (29.4 million euros), and Dani Olmo (22.5 million euros), reports RTCG.
