Today marks the fifth anniversary of the death of General Rasim Delić, and his grave at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery was visited by family members and numerous delegations, writes the BH News Agency Patria.
Adnan Delić, son of the wartime commander, said that his father is a person who entered the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and gave his life for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- He took on the greatest responsibility in the most difficult moments for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that was in 1993 when he took over the position of General of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
General Delić retired in 2000, and the trial in The Hague were the hardest days after the war. He retired in September 2000. The Hague Tribunal sentenced him to three years in prison in 2008 for "cruel treatment and violation of the rules and customs of warfare". He served two-thirds of his sentence and was released.
Homage to the general was paid by the president of SDP, Nermin Nikšić, Zekerijah Osmić, and Damir Mašić.
