A delegation of the Sarajevo Canton, led by Minister of Economy Muharem Šabić, laid flowers today at the site of the massacre that occurred 22 years ago in Oslobodilaca Sarajeva street at number 8, in memory of the nine murdered Sarajevans, thus marking the anniversary of their deaths, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
On that tragic day, three shells fell, one after another, on the asphalt pedestrian path near the public garage, behind the building at Zlatni ljiljani Square and into the upper left corner of the window of apartment two at Oslobodilaca Sarajeva street number 8, from whose explosive effects were killed: Seida Baličevac, Osman Hebibović, Emin Kolar, Enver Mustagrudić, Muškija Pribinja, Mirsad Spahić, Selima Spahić, Aiša Šito and Jadranka Tendžera, while another 16 were wounded.
- Let's call things by their real name. They did not die, they were murdered. Forgetting is a great sin and an accomplice to crime. We gathered because of our fellow citizens who were murdered here, but also for ourselves and our children, because we will not and must not forget these crimes - emphasized Minister Šabić in his address to those present, after laying flowers.
In addition to the delegation of the Sarajevo Canton, flowers were also laid on the memorial plaque by representatives of the City of Sarajevo, the Municipality of Novi Grad led by the President of the Municipal Council Edin Gabela, the Union of Civil War Victims of Sarajevo Canton, the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, as well as family members, friends and neighbours.
