Anniversary of General Zićro Suljević's Death Marked

Today, in the harem of Alipašina Mosque, family, friends, comrades, and representatives of military and civilian authorities in BiH paid tribute to the General of the Army of RBiH Zićro Suljević with the recitation of Fatiha and a minute of silence, who passed away on this day in 2008. On behalf of the Centar Municipality, flowers were laid at the grave of General Suljević by Nedžad Ajnadžić, President of the Municipal Council, and Suvad Kerla, councilor, reports the Patria News Agency.

After laying flowers, Nedžad Ajnadžić emphasized that Zićro Suljević, whom he knew personally, was a great man and patriot whose memory should be cherished, as well as the great deeds he accomplished in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Retired General Mustafa Polutak spoke about Zićro Suljević's role in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the past war.

-Zićro held significant command positions in the former JNA where he also retired. Before the war began, when it was already becoming apparent what was being prepared for us, he was among the first to join the ranks of the resistance organizers, participating in the preparation of the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina by acting in the Staff of the Patriotic League in BiH. At the beginning of the war, Zićro became a member of the Staff of the Territorial Defense of BiH. Almost until the very end of the war, he served as the Head of the Operational Staff of the Army of RBiH, after which he moved to lead the Strategic Research Group in the Armed Forces of BiH – said Polutak.
