34th Anniversary of Igman Defence Marked: Remembrance Lasts as Long as We Walk the Path of Our Heroes

(Patria) - The thirty-fourth anniversary of the defence of Igman 1992-1995 was marked today.

More than 600 participants walked the 11.2-kilometer route this morning from the heroic Lokve to the proud Igman and Brezovača.

The event organizers - the Municipality of Hadžići and the Coordination of Veterans' Associations of the Municipality of Hadžići - successfully realized the traditional march.

The goal of the march was to preserve the memory of the defence against aggression on the sovereign and internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and of the decisive battles for the defence of the "Path of Salvation" - Sarajevo's only connection to free territory during the siege.

Numerous delegations laid flowers at the memorial on Brezovača, paying tribute to the heroes who stand eternal guard over this area.

The organizers express special gratitude to the students and teachers of the elementary schools and the Hadžići Secondary School Center, the mountaineering clubs PSD "Brezovača" and PSD "Pazarić", the VD Tarčin and Hadžići Emergency Medical Service teams, ATV Hadžići, Off Road Club Kraljevac, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS - PS Hadžići for their safety and support.

The program was enhanced by performances from KUD "Ivan Planina" Tarčin, KUD "Bjelašnica" Pazarić, KUD "Mladi Metalac" Hadžići, and KUD "Igman".
