
(Patria) - By laying flowers and paying tribute at the Central Memorial in Nedžarići today, the 34th anniversary of the formation of the "Black Swans" unit and the death of national hero Mehdin Hodžić, also known as Captain Senad, was marked.
Flowers were also laid by the Minister for Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Omer Osmanović, who stated on the occasion that hero Mehdin Hodžić was an example of a true fighter and patriot who believed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and gave the most valuable thing for it.
- Today, we remember with pride and respect all the heroes and martyrs of the "Black Swans" unit, and we also pay tribute to national hero Mehdin Hodžić. The "Black Swans" were a symbol of courage, discipline, and determination in the most difficult days for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Their struggle and sacrifice remain permanently inscribed in the history of our homeland. Mehdin Hodžić holds a special place in that struggle, a hero who, by his example, showed what it means to love and defend one's country.
His name lives on today among his comrades and the people to whom he gave everything, as a symbol of a man who stood in defense of his homeland in the most difficult moments and who believed in our freedom - said Minister Osmanović.

During today's gathering, it was also emphasized that the "Black Swans" never refused any task. With their organization and bravery, they were recognized wherever they appeared, and they instilled hope and security in the people.
Senad Mehdin Hodžić was born in 1957, and was 35 years old at the time of his death.
