28th Anniversary of the Liquidation of Six Srebrenica Victims Marked, Families Gather on a Meadow Without Any Memorial

(Patria) - Members of the families of the Srebrenica genocide victims today paid tribute at the Godinjska Bara execution site near Trnovo to six murdered Bosniaks who were treacherously liquidated by members of the 'Scorpions' unit. The youngest victim was

16 years old, and the oldest 36 years old.

In July 1995, Safet Fejzić (17), Azmir Alispahić (16), Sidik Salkić (36), Smail Ibrahimović (35), Dino Salihović (18) and Juso Delić (25) were killed.

During the trial of Slobodan Milošević in 2005, the footage of the shooting of the Srebrenica victims horrified the world.

The footage shows several members of the "Scorpions", some of whom wear red berets, pulling six bound civilians out of a truck. With derogatory words and insults, they then lead them into the forest, and then on a clearing kill four of them with single shots and bursts from behind. The perpetrators then shot the victims on the ground in the head at close range. The remaining two prisoners were forced to carry the bodies, and then the "Scorpions" killed them as well in a nearby half-destroyed house.

Kada Hotić from the Movement "Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves" said that today they are marking the anniversary of the six Srebrenica victims, and that many are still being searched for.

"The truck dragged the boys away. We don't know where the others were executed. But we will remember and tell," she said.

She emphasizes that genocide is still denied today, and that the youth are poisoned by crime and glorify war criminals.

Even today, there is no memorial at this site for the murdered Srebrenica victims.
