Day of the Una River Marked with a Diverse Program for All Generations

(Patria) - The celebration of the Day of the Una River in Una National Park was marked by socializing, sports, and promotion of the natural beauty that this protected area offers. The event, which gathers numerous visitors from home and abroad year after year, offered a rich and diverse program for all generations with the aim of highlighting to the whole of BiH and the region the importance of the emerald beauty that connects Croatia and BiH, but also gives the Una-Sana Canton tourism potential.

The central activities held on May 17th included a bike ride, a hiking tour, a board games tournament, and a music program in nature, further emphasizing the Park's mission of connecting people through a healthy lifestyle and love for nature.

The cycling club "Daj krug" from Bihać organized a bike ride with the symbolic name "On the Trails of the Una River," which covered the section Bihać – Štrbački buk – Bihać. On the route of several tens of kilometers, numerous cyclists enjoyed the ride along the banks of the crystal-clear Una, one of the most valuable natural gems of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hikers and recreationalists participated in the exhibition hiking tour "On the Trails of Una National Park," organized by the Mountaineering Society "Plješevica" Bihać. The route Gorjevac – Štrbački buk – Gorjevac offered participants unforgettable views and an experience of untouched nature.

Fans of board games had the opportunity to showcase their skills at the Backgammon tournament "Una," held at the picnic area near Štrbački buk, organized by the Backgammon Club "Una Ajna" Bihać. The gathering in nature was further enriched by the performance of the ensemble "Prijatelji sa Une" (Friends from the Una), whose musical repertoire completed the event's ambiance.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants and visitors who supported the Day of the Una River with their presence, and especially thanked the women's association "Hanume sa Une," who took care of preparing and serving food to all participants.
