Nušić's "The Minister's Wife" in front of Sarajevans on December 3rd

The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), in its role of promoting regional cultures, is organizing an exceptional cultural event for the people of Sarajevo at the beginning of December. On the stage of the National Theatre on December 3rd at 7:30 PM, the "Boško Buha" Theatre from Belgrade will perform, an institution of culture that has been operating on two stages (Children's and Grand) for almost 65 years, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

They are coming to Sarajevo with the play "The Minister's Wife," which has become a real hit in a very short time, both on its home stage and at numerous festivals and guest performances.

And in the year when the 150th anniversary of the birth of Branislav Nušić, one of the most significant playwrights not only in the region but also beyond, and the director of the National Theatre Sarajevo in the 1920s, is being celebrated, a classic work in a contemporary interpretation arrives in Sarajevo, one of the most feminine "ministers," directed and adapted by Tatjana Mandić Rigonat.

The roles are played by: Goran Jevtić, Mihajlo Todorović, Miloš Vlalukin, Vlasta Velisavljević, Uroš Jovičić, Nemanja Oliverić, Saša Simović, Viktor Savić, Nenad Nenadović, and Katarina Marković as the only woman in an unusual cast.

In the play, men play the roles of women, and only one man's role is played by a woman. The genre is the opposite of what the audience is accustomed to when it comes to this drama with juicy comedic elements. The audience is particularly thrilled by the final scenes in which the excellent Goran Jevtić, as Minister Živka when she lost her title, transforms into a man, only to return to the top of power as such. This actor has won several awards precisely for this performance.

The guest performance of the Belgrade theatre, due to the nature of the initiative, the name of the author, his birth anniversary and his work, as well as the unusual directorial approach, is new proof of regional aspirations for cooperation, in which the role of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) is a natural harbor for such ideas, both symbolically and actually.
