Nožica on Vidović's verdict: This is a verdict against the legal profession in BiH

(Patria) - After the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered a first-instance verdict sentencing Vasvija Vidović to one year in prison, her lawyer Senka Nožica addressed the media.

"This is a verdict against our colleague Vasvija Vidović, and I believe this is a verdict against the legal profession in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With this verdict, the Court has told me that we cannot do our job as stipulated by law and that we are not obliged to provide any evidence given to us by our client.

I want to say this time that we, as the legal team for Ms. Vidović, are grateful to all colleagues from the region who have supported her all along, and we also congratulate the lawyers of Serbia, specifically Belgrade, who made an honorable decision to fight injustice by suspending work," said Nožica.

She announced an appeal against the verdict.

"We are convinced that this appeal, which will go before three judges, will be successful and will finally prove that Vasvija Vidović did not commit a criminal offense.

That is all I can tell you, because anything else I say would be a form of pressure on the Appellate Panel. We are convinced that they will work professionally, that they will consider all aspects of this event and deliver a verdict that will be as it should be, which is an acquittal," concluded Nožica.
