Entry to state and public institutions should be unobstructed upon showing some form of personal identification, but this does not apply in the building of the Federal Parliament, not even for journalists, writes the news agency Patria.
Namely, to attend a session of the FBiH Parliament, the media are obliged to announce the journalist's first and last name exclusively by fax, but if the fax happens not to go through, then you are in real trouble. This was felt today by a journalist from the Patria agency, who was even thrown out of the hallway, because the fax does not go through, and there is no possibility to announce your arrival via email(!?).
When the journalist asked why he had to leave even the hallway, if this is a public institution, the security guard replied that he is „responsible for this building“, and literally threw the journalist out.
Journalists go through real hell if their name happens not to be on the list, so those who accidentally replace a sick colleague from the list are denied entry. Such an approach by security guards and staff is not even seen at the Pentagon, which is unacceptable, because on every press accreditation there is a printed request asking that journalists be helped in performing their duties and allowed access to institutions.
Nevertheless, in the Federal Parliament they do not understand this, and they are enslaved by a complicated procedure that ultimately results in the journalist not completing his task!
