(Patria) - Explosions continue to echo across Iran due to airstrikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force using drones and kamikaze drones, targeting nuclear facilities in Fordow, Karaj, Isfahan, and Zanjan.
The spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Israel carried out a new attack on a nuclear facility in Iran's Isfahan province, stating that the operation is "in its early stages".
At this facility in central Iran, raw uranium is processed into uranium tetrafluoride (UF4), and then into uranium hexafluoride (UF6) – a gas used as the primary feedstock for centrifuges in the uranium enrichment process.
The facility was first tested in 2004, and next to it is a nuclear fuel production facility, opened in 2009, which is used for the production of low-enriched fuel for nuclear power plants.
In 2022, Iran announced plans to build a new research reactor at that location.
Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned Israel that it "must expect a severe punishment" after the "crime" of attacking Iran and killing several commanders and scientists.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the military operation will continue as long as necessary.
