New success for judo team: Athletes from BiH become Balkan champions

TIRANA, (Patria) - At the Balkan Senior Championships held in Tirana, Albania on March 30 and 31, 2019, representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina in judo became Balkan champions: Igor Đurica up to 60 kg, Toni Miletić up to 90 kg, Aleksandra Samardžić up to 70 kg, Sabina Haračić up to 78 kg, and Jelena Arnautović over 78 kg.

Silver medals were won by Vuk Elez up to 81 kg, Hadis Jerlagić up to 100 kg, Vasilije Vujičić over 100 kg, and Anđela Samardžić up to 63 kg, while bronze medals were won by Husein Gegić up to 66 kg, Nikola Boljanović up to 73 kg, Božidar Vučurević up to 81 kg, Nikola Pljevaljčić up to 90 kg, Rajko Mirković over 100 kg, Ana Marija Brkić up to 48 kg, Lejla Sejdinović up to 57 kg, and Lolita Furundžija up to 78 kg.

The Judo Federation of BiH stated that this is yet another confirmation of the impeccable work of the most trophy-winning Olympic sport in BiH, which promotes the glory of Bosnian-Herzegovinian sports at all international competitions.

The representatives were accompanied at the Balkan Championships by the Vice President of the Judo Federation of BiH, Ognjen Pavlović, and his associates.
