New FK Sarajevo coach Rožman: The team has quality, I can't wait to start working

(Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo has chosen Simon Rožman (40) as its new coach, and former BiH national team player Senijad Ibričić will be the sports director. The club president Ismir Mirvić and the duo from Slovenia, Rožman and Ibričić, addressed the media today.

“I am aware that the fans have been eagerly awaiting this moment. It took time to find the perfect fit for us. We weren't just looking for one person, but for professionals eager for success. Simon Rožman and Senijad Ibričić are joining our team. Simon is a young and modern coach. He has won trophies. We were impressed by his work ethic. His vision and management of the club's sporting side align with ours. Ibričić is the first foreigner to receive the 'Hajdučko srce' award. He has proven himself as a sports director,” said Mirvić.

“Thank you to the president for the kind words. This is one of the biggest clubs in the Balkans. We have come to do everything we can for the club. We won't promise too much. We are sure we know where we have come to, and that is not pressure. We need to restore the players' confidence as soon as possible. The team has potential,” said Ibričić.

The Slovenian expert said that there is a big challenge ahead for the team.

"We talked a lot to get as much information as possible. We quickly found common ground in terms of functioning, ambitions, and work model. Our team already has quality. I think we can achieve the club's goals. We are excited. We can't wait for Monday when we start working,” said Rožman.

The club president Mirvić took the floor again.

“We were looking for someone who is a modern coach, who is eager for success, to embark on this project together. We place a lot of trust and I believe in this formula. There has been misfortune in the past period, we expected more. We wanted a team of people to manage the sporting side. The only offer was for Rožman and Ibričić. They had contracts with Domžale, and it took us time to resolve that. The main thing is to establish a work system.”

Coach Rožman emphasized that they are not afraid of challenges.

“I see a great opportunity to do great things with serious work and a winning mentality. Our job is not about nice stories. We need maximum work and discipline. That's where we will start. The team is quite well-assembled. I understand the current situation. The guys haven't forgotten how to play football, they need support. We played a friendly match against Sarajevo. We are here to help the guys move in the direction they showed then. They all have the value to prove they can wear the jersey. Our desire is to achieve as much as possible in the shortest amount of time. I have my staff, so it's easier for us to adapt. We are coming as a complete package.”

The Slovenian expert spoke about the style of football he will build at Koševu.

“Everything is nice, we all want to play offensively, and I am that type of coach. But now we need to assess the basic situation, where we are. We have an idea of how we want to play, but I don't know when we will achieve it. I want the fans to talk about the games as we played them a few days later. I will work to the maximum to help the club. In our profession, there is never enough time. We play a friendly match the day after tomorrow. We start working on Monday. We will go step by step so that we are good by next Friday.”
