New defeat at Bilino Polje: Worst qualifiers in history end

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team concluded their unsuccessful Euro qualifiers for Germany with a defeat against Slovakia (1:2) at the Bilino Polje stadium in Zenica.

We finished these qualifiers with 10 points in fourth place, behind Portugal, Slovakia, and Luxembourg, while only Iceland, with the same number of points as us, and Liechtenstein ranked lower.

Tonight, the team led by Savo Milošević played another rather weak match, although it was completely unimportant in terms of results, and the most painful were the images of half-empty stands and the very fact that interest in our national team's matches has drastically declined.

Slovakia had the first half-chance in the sixth minute when Škriniar headed wide, and then there was a period of "deadness" on the field. The BiH players had their first chance in the 41st minute. Hajradinović shot from distance, but Rodak saved.

After a sleepy first 45 minutes, the second half was much more eventful. It started with an own goal by the Slovaks after a counter-attack by Hamulić, but the celebration lasted less than two minutes, as Boženik scored for the equalizer in the 51st minute after Hamulić's mistake.

There were no excitements until the 63rd minute, and then Renato Gojković received a second yellow card, so we had one player less half an hour before the end.

With one player less, the BiH players were helpless, harmless towards the Slovak goal, and in the 71st minute, the visitors took the lead. They first had a chance, but our goalkeeper saved it into a corner, after which Šatka beat Pirić and plunged us into darkness. The visitors' goal was preceded by a poor reaction from our entire defensive line after the corner kick.

The match in Zenica was again marked by the BHFanaticosi who chanted against the FSBiH, but also against coach Milošević. They left the stadium in the 50th minute.
