New football scandal in BiH, a women's fairy tale from the Drina could be ended by sporting injustice

New sparks in Bosnian-Herzegovinian football were ignited by the First Women's League derby between Inter from Posušje and SFK Libero from Goražde. The president and coach of the visiting team, Senad Hubjer, dissatisfied with the refereeing, resigned from all positions in the club, making its future uncertain. Before that, after the match, Hubjer broadcast a recording live on social media in which he asked the young women who refereed the match why they had turned the derby into a circus.

- Victories and defeats are part of sports, and minor refereeing injustices are also part of it, but it is difficult to remain indifferent to things that make competing meaningless. We outplayed the home team, but we couldn't play against the referees; three red cards, a disallowed goal, uncalled penalties, and finally a goal for the home team after a handball. Believe me, the whole stadium was laughing, Hubjer told Patria.

SFK Libero has officially requested the match recording from the Football Association to support their complaint and to show the public what really happened. Hubjer does not officially expect justice. On the contrary, he expects additional penalties for himself and the club, primarily because of the recording he posted on social media.

- I have been in football for over 30 years. I have seen many things, but I have never experienced anything like this. This is the end for me, I can't take it anymore. I have informed the club's Assembly in writing that I am withdrawing. I feel sorry for the girls; they put in a lot of effort. We haven't lost a match for over a year, and instead of a reward, we get a punishment. It's hard to watch the tears of girls who deserved none of this, said Hubjer.

His withdrawal could also end the small football fairy tale from the Drina. In a short time, a women's football club was established here, which now gathers about 50 members. Libero has become more than a club; they invested in infrastructure and gifted Goražde the first sports hall with artificial turf. Hubjer, with his enthusiasm and persistence, was the driving force of the club, so his withdrawal puts its further operation into question.

An extraordinary session of the Assembly will be held tonight, which will provide answers to the open questions. After the defeat in Posušje, Libero lost its leading position in the standings. There are six rounds left until the end of the championship. The match was refereed by Ena Isen, Azra Dilberović, and Ena Hajdarpašić, all three from Sarajevo.
