New circus directed by the "Trojka" parties: Seats are again more important to them than citizens

After all deadlines for the constitution of the City Council were missed, today we witnessed another circus directed by "Trojka".

Seven months after the Local Elections were held, the "Trojka" parties have failed to agree on the distribution of seats. As we have witnessed countless times before, this time too, seats were more important than the citizens of Sarajevo.

In the post-war period, it has never happened that the formation of the City Council and the election of the leadership of the City of Sarajevo took this long.

The confirmation of the new convocation of the City Council by the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH was on 05/06/2025, after which the City Council had to be formed within 14 days.

Today is 05/27, another deadline has been missed, and who knows how much longer we will wait for the election of the leadership.


Smječanin: No one will take responsibility

Today's session is another indication that "Trojka" does not know how or what to do to improve the quality of life of Sarajevo citizens, that they are without a vision and a plan and program for the development and improvement of the city of Sarajevo.

Two months ago, the "Trojka" parties knew they would have a secure majority in the City Council, and since then they have not been able to agree on positions. No one knows how long this saga will last.

We have not forgotten that in March 2021, through their behind-the-scenes political games, the "Trojka" parties dragged the honorable Bogić Bogićević into their political mud, as well as the fact that things got heated regarding the election of a new mayor to replace Benjamina Karić.

Using the right to an indefinitely long break according to the rules of procedure, today we witnessed a two-hour break for "Trojka" to try to reach an agreement. After the break, the quorum was lost and the session was adjourned.

Unfortunately, no one will bear responsibility and sanctions for all these events, and it will all cost the citizens of Sarajevo dearly.
