(Patria) - Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Kemal Ademović, has called an urgent session for today, with several important legal proposals on its agenda.
Delegates are expected to consider amendments to the Excise Law, which provide for the possibility of the Council of Ministers of BiH to temporarily abolish or reduce excise duties on fuel for up to six months annually, in case of market disturbances. This proposal has already been adopted by the House of Representatives at the initiative of Saša Magazinović.
The session could be jeopardized, as SNSD has announced a boycott. Nikola Špirić stated that he and two other delegates will not attend, while the opposition criticizes the blockade of measures that would ease household budgets. We remind you that delegates from HDZ also follow SNSD and support them in blockades.
Also on the agenda are laws on the prevention of financing of terrorism, amendments to the Election Law providing for the introduction of new technologies (biometrics, ballot scanning, and faster transmission of results), and the law on the electricity market harmonized with EU regulations.
The goal of the energy law is to establish an organized market and electricity exchange, as well as to fulfill obligations towards the EU.
