High Representative Valentin Inzko welcomed the fact that political parties have finally reached an agreement on the formation of new governments at the state and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina levels, reports the Patria news agency.
Expressing regret that more than five months have been lost in discussions about the division of positions, the High Representative emphasized that now is not the time for complacency, but for serious work. “Citizens expect governments to make up for lost time and start addressing the serious challenges facing the country and its citizens, especially in the areas of employment, the rule of law, the fight against corruption, and progress on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration.”
"Now that the coalition partners have agreed on the division of labor, it is high time to start with the real work, which is serving the citizens. If political parties were sincere in the promises made to citizens, the way politics has been conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina so far must radically change. The citizens' need for a better life in all spheres must finally be placed ahead of the interests of political parties and politicians,” said the High Representative, it was announced from the OHR.
