New Lines at Sarajevo International Airport

(Patria) - The news that new airline routes will be introduced at Sarajevo International Airport has pleased many passengers, especially those who wish to visit Paris or Barcelona via Girona in the near future, whether for private or business reasons.

More than 110,000 passengers in the first month of this calendar year, which is an increase of more than 50 percent compared to the same period last year, is a clear indicator that many records could be broken in the coming months, and breaking these records will be much easier as new routes have also been announced.

"The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be connected to 36 destinations operated by 27 airlines, and regarding new destinations, I would certainly highlight Paris, Girona, Baden Baden, and Dusseldorf," says Vedrana Vikić Musić, Director of the Airport Services Sector.

For years, Istanbul has garnered the most interest, and this year several new cities will also be at the top of the list of most sought-after destinations.

"Paris and Girona as new destinations, Rome as a recently introduced destination. In our opinion, these are the destinations that will be most interesting for our fellow citizens and, of course, for tourists who will visit the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2025 as well," adds Vikić Musić.

Last year was successful in many segments, and the airport is particularly proud of the figure of 1,800,000 passengers.

"We recorded a 34 percent growth in passenger traffic. This is very important; if we compare ourselves to airports in the region, we recorded the highest percentage growth in passenger traffic. Based on the agreements reached and announcements, if everything goes according to plan, 2025 will also be a record-breaking year, and I think we will achieve the best results ever," Vikić Musić emphasized.

The busiest period will be from March to October, and tickets for many destinations can already be purchased.

"Tickets can be purchased through the website of Sarajevo International Airport, as well as at the ticket sales counter located on the ground floor of Terminal B. They can also be purchased through the airlines' websites, as well as through agencies authorized to sell airline tickets," concluded Vikić Musić.

With these new routes, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be even better connected to Europe and the world, and this should lead to new records in 2025.
