New message from Elektroprivreda BiH: Snow caused extreme loads and failures on the power infrastructure

(Patria) - Large amounts of wet and heavy snow have led to extreme loads on the power infrastructure, causing serious mechanical damage, failures on transmission and distribution power lines. The breaking of concrete and iron-lattice poles, which has occurred, confirms the extent of the mechanical load, it was announced from Elektroprivreda BiH.

Due to failures on the facilities of Elektroprijenos BiH, which are not under the jurisdiction of Elektroprivreda BiH, the most difficult situation with the supply of electricity is still in the Una-Sana Canton, especially in Velika Kladuša.

There are also power outages in Bihać, Cazin and Sanski Most, while alternative solutions have been found for Bosanska Krupa and Bužim.

The snow also caused significant damage to 35 kV power lines and power outages in Tuzla, Živinice and Srebrenik in the Tuzla Canton. A larger number of failures on the low-voltage network has also been recorded.

The repair of failures in hard-to-reach areas of the municipalities of Vareš, Zavidovići, Maglaj, Olovo, Kakanj and Zenica in the Zenica-Doboj Canton is underway.

Elektroprivreda BiH is making maximum efforts to repair the failures on its facilities in the areas where power outages have been recorded as soon as possible. All available electrical installation teams are continuously engaged in the field.
