President of the European Football Federation (UEFA) Aleksander Čeferin will visit Sarajevo on Thursday, where he will open the new official premises of the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Deputy Secretary General of FIFA, Zvonimir Boban, also visited Sarajevo, and instead of green fields, he was shown around the new football house. The renovation and new administrative center are not in question, but the fact that in BiH, those for whom federations and jobs within them exist have the hardest conditions.
The mentioned project is partly financed by funds allocated to the Football Federation of BiH from the UEFA HatTrick program, which supports the implementation of development projects for all European football federations, UEFA announced.
The new Football House in Sarajevo will provide optimal working conditions for the administration, which, they claim, will have a positive effect on football in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the years to come.
Previously, professional footballers expressed concerns that comfortable chairs would not bring prosperity to football.
The Union of Professional Footballers in Bosnia and Herzegovina reminds that the total investment is estimated at around 10 million KM.
- As they emphasize in the Federation, the decision to purchase a new administrative building is 'one of a series of successful business moves by the management of the Football Federation of BiH', and we ask ourselves what is actually the purpose of the Federation as such? Has the Federation today become just a means of employing suitable staff who clearly need additional space, in addition to the administrative building in the center of Sarajevo and the Training Center in Zenica, or do the leaders want to have a more pleasant environment when they welcome UEFA representatives in order to further build their personal careers?", the Union asks.
The invested funds, in the opinion of those for whom the Football Federation exists, should have been spent on renovating the pitches in Bosnia and Herzegovina!
The pitches at the Premier League stadiums in BiH are among the worst in the region and significantly affect the quality of play, player health, and the overall impression of our football within the country and beyond.
- How much longer do we have to read regional media reports that mock our stadiums? Grbavica Stadium received a new pitch thanks to the project realized by FK Željezničar, and NK Čelik has had one of the best pitches in the competition for several years - they noted.
