New e-IDDEEA Application: Electronic Signatures and Digital Documents for BiH Citizens

(Patria) - The Agency for Identification Documents of BiH (IDDEEA) has presented the e-IDDEEA mobile application, which allows citizens to electronically sign documents and access a range of administrative services via phone or computer.

IDDEEA Director Almir Badnjević announced that the digital identity is free of charge and can be activated at the Agency's regional centers, and soon at banks, municipalities, and through mobile teams.

The application enables:

- Electronic signing of documents,

- Display of digital ID card, passport, and driver's license,

- Access to fines, applications, and vehicle registration,

- Reminders about document expiration.

Although digital documents are not yet legally equivalent to physical ones, IDDEEA recommends their use in institutions.

Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Edin Forto stated that the application marks a step towards digital governance, and that 60% of municipalities no longer require CIPS certificates.

EU Representative Stefano Ellero confirmed support for digitalization in BiH, including the development of an e-wallet compatible with European systems, and called on authorities to utilize EU funds for reforms and digital transformation.
