Football manager and lawyer murdered by the same killer

More and more evidence suggests that 39-year-old football manager Sanja Hap was killed by 58-year-old Osijek businessman Vitomir Tolj, who also killed himself after murdering lawyer Vlatko Vidaković. However, the police are still unwilling to disclose details of the case while the investigation is ongoing, reports the Patria News Agency.

The police reveal that Zagreb criminal investigators, in whose jurisdiction Sanja Hap was murdered, are cooperating with their colleagues in Osijek, where Tolj murdered Vidaković and then himself.

The fact that the cases are connected is also shown by unofficial information according to which a knife with blood droplets and the adhesive tape used to bind Sanja Hap when she was stabbed were found in the car that Tolj drove from Zagreb to Osijek.

The circumstances of the Osijek murder have been clear from day one, as the killer's body was found with the weapon next to the victim in her office in Osijek. New evidence could support the information that has been published in the media for days, suggesting that Tolj had previously murdered the football manager in Zagreb.

However, these assumptions will have to be proven by forensic examination, which would link the found evidence to the murder in Zagreb.

Sanja Hap's body was found on Monday around 6 PM in an apartment on Podbrežje street in Zagreb, reportedly 15 hours after she was murdered. Her body, bound with adhesive tape and stabbed six times, was found by an acquaintance, according to media reports. The knife used for the murder was not found at the scene of the bloody crime.

On Monday morning, Tolj murdered the Osijek lawyer in his office with gunshots, reportedly dissatisfied with the outcome of a trial in which Vidaković represented him. Tolj, who suffered from PTSD, was accused at the time of kidnapping the son of Osijek lawyer Radoslav Arambašić.

The media reported that Sanja Hap and Vlatko Vidaković, as well as their killer, had business contacts during their lives. Tolj allegedly demanded money from the lawyer and the football manager, believing they owed him. He demanded 3,000 euros from the lawyer for a defense he was not satisfied with, while Sanja Hap allegedly did not return the money he withdrew from Tolj's Osijek savings cooperative Manila, Hina reported.
