Football Federation of BiH threatens to reveal details, Alečković remains silent

The Football Federation of BiH has threatened to reveal details from the case of football referee Emir Alečković, if this matter continues to be mentioned in the media – reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

We remind you that the football referee Emir Alečković, who was considered one of the most promising referees in BiH, was suspended by the Federation eight months ago for two years because he allegedly sent inappropriate messages to young participants of the program of the Association of Football Referees and Instructors of Sarajevo Canton.

During that period, Alečković refereed the final stage of the European Championship for players under 19 in Lithuania, but was immediately returned to BiH.

However, the entire case has now taken on a completely new dimension. Jasmin Hujić, the father of Đenis Hujić, the young man who was in the public spotlight eight months ago due to an alleged pedophilia scandal, has suddenly withdrawn his statement, claiming that he made the decision to report referee Alečković hastily and thoughtlessly. Hujić believes that the referee Alečković's career was unjustly destroyed.

Regardless of Hujić's new statement, the suspension against Alečković will not be lifted.

Alečković's defense attorney, lawyer Hakija Kurtović, confirmed to NAP that this case has been submitted to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo. However, the court declared itself incompetent, after which Kurtović filed an appeal.

- I believe that every person has the right to have their case heard in court – Kurtović told NAP. He did not want to give further statements regarding his client, because, he says, it could be interpreted as pressure on the judges.

- I can only say that I trust that the courts will ultimately make the right decision – Kurtović told NAP.

Emir Alečković, the suspended football referee, also told NAP that he does not want to say much about this case.

- I do not have precise information about what is happening, except that I read in the media that Hujić withdrew his statement – said referee Alečković.
