Football hopes: Born in Austria, dreams of BiH jersey

(Patria) - Among the candidates for our U-17 team, assembled this week in Zenica by the new coach of the BiH cadet national team, Nermin Šabić, Denis Dizdarević (16) also played in the winter camp.

This young player from FK Austria Vienna, whose parents are from Sokolac near Gračanica, although born and raised in Austria, has the greatest desire to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"It is my greatest wish and I hope it will come true one day. I was at the camp in Zenica and I liked how those few days of training went," Dizdarević told Patria.

As we learn from Denis, he was practically born and raised at a stadium in a town near Vienna, so it's not surprising that his first toy was a ball.

"I fell in love with football, and my father Nijaz also played, so it was expected that I would fall asleep and wake up with a ball. I have been following the BiH national football team for years, and my role models are Miralem Pjanić and Edin Džeko," says Dizdarević.

In addition to his commitments to his club in Vienna, where he scored six goals in 11 games in the last year, Denis is also a diligent student, so he does not neglect his school obligations. With the support of his parents, his uncle Mustafa, who is also the biggest advocate of his sports career and has been a member of "BH Fanaticos" for years and follows the matches of our football dragons at almost all games, tries to help him manage everything.

After this week's camp in Zenica, Denis Dizdarević has already returned to Austria, where he continues his training at his parent club, led by coach Ivica Vastić. In the meantime, he says he is eagerly awaiting news on whether he will be selected for the BiH U-17 team by coach Nermin Šabić.
