German Embassy to NAP: Christian Schmidt is the High Representative

(Patria) - The German Embassy in BiH had a brief comment on the statements made today by the BiH Security Minister Nenad Nešić regarding the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, whom he called a German citizen.

"Christian Schmidt is the High Representative. The Office of the High Representative has duly registered Christian Schmidt," stated the German Embassy in response to Patria.

Nešić today called on Germany to withdraw Schmidt and send him back to Germany.

He called on the BiH Prosecutor's Office to conduct an investigation, and rejected claims that he did this because of the start of the court proceedings against Milorad Dodik and Miloš Lukić for non-implementation of the High Representative's decisions.

From Republika Srpska, and primarily from SNSD, they dispute the legitimacy of the High Representative, claiming that he was not confirmed by the UN Security Council.
