Nino Peulić, a great hope for Bosnian football: I realised my dream in Zenica

Another camp for football talents organised by the "umbrella" Association has ended. In the "Dragon's Nest", selectors and coaches of the U-15 national team worked for seven days with players born in 2002. There were several younger boys who, in terms of knowledge and talent, were not behind the older ones.

Nino Peulić, a boy who was on Bayern's radar this spring, is the youngest participant at the camp. Enthusiastic after his first camp in the national team jersey, he spoke about his impressions from Zenica.

How did you experience the socialising and football training in Zenica?

– It was fascinating and professional. I was warmly welcomed by everyone, from teammates to coaches.

Who did you spend the most time with?

– I was with a boy from the diaspora who plays in Bremen. We had a good time together during training and after training. I must say that I liked everyone. I had a good connection with each of them.

When were you happiest during the camp?

– I was already happy on the way to Bosnia, to see my country again and to train with the best players in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am happy that I got the chance to show myself in the right light. That's the only way I can prove myself.

When was it hardest for you?

– The hardest part for me at the camp was when some players had to leave, because of the extreme heat and intense training. I felt very sorry because, even though they were only there for a few days, I had gotten used to those players.

How satisfied are you with your performance?

– I am very satisfied with my performance, because I learned new tactics and movements in matches again. This is all important for my future at my club.

What were the coaches like?

– The coaches and coordinators were professional. You can see from everything that they too once played football at a high level. The coaches motivated me at every training session. They told me that I have to give my all, so that in the future I can play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

What did they tell you during the match?

– In situations when I had the ball, the coaches always praised me, motivated me, and showed me that if I have an idea for movement or a chance for a dribble, I shouldn't think but just put that idea into action. If I made a mistake, not to dwell on it, but to look forward and, as a midfielder, create attacks and lead.

Did you get to know the city of Zenica?

– I didn't really have time to get to know the city, because at the camp we were training and after training I would just fall into bed. What I saw of Zenica I really liked; the people are very hospitable and kind.

What are your ambitions?

– My ambitions are to finish school and play without injuries, and my biggest wish is to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team in a few years – wishes the talented Nino Peulić, one of hundreds of youngsters from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, who were being tested in Zenica in recent days.

The Football Academy, recently taken over by Darko Ljubojević, a former football ace and recently vice-president of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a bullseye. The goal is to test all talents in the younger selections, open their files, monitor their development, and invite the best when the time comes for qualifying matches. Ljubojević has a "dream team" of coaches with him, such as Zoran Erbez, Vedran Kovačević, Nenad Džidić, and others, who have proven themselves in working with younger selections. Armin Trkić, Nino Peulić, Kenan Kadirić are just some of the gems who have presented themselves in the best light. The camp in Zenica is just one step leading to the spotlight of glory.
