Nikšić hosted delegation of the Handball Federation of BiH

Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić today received a delegation of the Handball Federation of BiH at the Government headquarters in Sarajevo and expressed hope that at this major competition, the national team representatives will worthily represent our country, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The delegation of the Handball Federation of BiH included national team selector Dragan Marković, director Mirza Muzurović, and general secretary Smajo Karačić.

- The result you have achieved is fantastic, especially considering the fact that after the playoffs you were better than the Iceland selection, which is considered one of the best handball teams in the world – said the Prime Minister.

Selector Marković provided information on the course of preparations for the biggest handball event in the world, emphasizing that his selected players will gather in Mostar from December 22 to 30 after Sarajevo, and then after a short stay in the capital of BiH, they will depart for Qatar on January 4, where they will hone their form through playing in a tournament ahead of the Championship.

- You are certainly aware that we have major problems with injuries to several very important players, but I hope that, despite this, we will manage to assemble a respectable team that will be able to compete with the strongest national teams in the world – said selector Marković.

- Without the material and other assistance of the Government of the Federation of BiH, this success would not have been possible, emphasized director Muzurović and general secretary Karačić, once again expressing great gratitude for the support they had during the creation of this young national team and its further march towards the world top.

Selector Marković said that the players repaid everything with their performances on the field, and the crowning achievement is the qualification for the World Championship. He once again promised that his players will give their all to achieve the best possible placement at the World Championship in Qatar, which begins on January 15. Our national team makes its debut a day later against Iran.
