Nikšić with Ginkel: South Interconnection agreement signing soon in Washington

(Patria) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić met today in Sarajevo with the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in BiH John Ginkel.

Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Nerin Dizdar also attended the meeting.

The interlocutors exchanged information on the continuation of the South Gas Interconnection project implementation.

Progress was highlighted in the negotiations for the contract for the construction of this significant strategic project, as well as the preparation of the signing ceremony, which is expected to be held soon in Washington.

On this occasion, it was reiterated that this is a project of priority interest to the Federation of BiH and our country, as well as to the United States of America in this region.

Nikšić and Ginkel expressed satisfaction with the good partnership between the Federation of BiH and the USA, reflected in the implementation of this project, as well as the opportunities for improving cooperation on other significant projects that are being implemented and planned in the Federation of BiH.

The need to resolve the issue of the ban on managing state property was reiterated at the meeting.

It was stated that resolving this issue would unblock numerous strategic infrastructure projects in the Federation of BiH, as well as significant investments that would contribute to economic development and the standard of living of citizens.

The interlocutors agreed to continue joint efforts in activities for further improvement of cooperation, strengthening of institutional ties, as well as the development of partnership between the Federation of BiH, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United States of America.
