Nikšić: Decisions of SDP bodies are in force, we will not form a coalition with SDA, HDZ and SNSD

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Cantonal Committee of the SDP Tuzla today made a decision to enter the government in Tuzla Canton and to hold coalition talks with the bloc of parties led by the SDA.

The session of the Cantonal Committee SDP Tuzla was held with a reduced quorum, as it was not attended by SDP members who support the Mayor of Tuzla Jasmin Imamović and the President of the SDP Club in the Cantonal Assembly Dževad Hadžić, who hold a two-thirds majority in the assembly club.

The new situation was commented on Facebook by the President of the SDP, Nermin Nikšić. 

"Unfortunately, it turned out that part of the Cantonal Committee of the SDP TK and a small part of the club of representatives decided to violate the decisions of the bodies of the SDP BiH, which were adopted and confirmed by the Congress through the adoption of the reports on the work of the Main Board and the Presidency. I will request a report from the session of the Cantonal Committee because, according to my information, as at the previous session, there was no quorum for decision-making today either," said Nikšić.

The President of the SDP states that the lack of a quorum "apparently did not bother the leadership of the Cantonal organization to make such an unenforceable decision."

"I do not want to engage in speculation, of which there have been many these days, about the reasons for the rush and why they had to make such a decision. For me, the fact that they directly violated the decisions of the SDP BiH bodies and the SDP Statute is quite sufficient. I hope that those who forced the attempt to make an unstatutory decision are aware of their actions and the consequences it will produce. One thing is certain, the decisions of the SDP BiH bodies are in force and will not change, meaning that the SDP BiH will not form a coalition with the SDA, HDZ and SNSD," stated Nikšić. 

Finally, he said: "Those individuals who want that for reasons known to them can certainly do so, but as individuals, and not in the name of or as part of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina."
