Nikšić after victory: In SDP there are no losers and there is room for everyone, we are going to build a strong Bosnia and Herzegovina

The new-old president of the SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić, said at a press conference tonight at the SDP headquarters that he is the winner, but that this does not mean that the other four candidates who competed in the race for president are losers, reports a reporter for the Bosnian news agency Patria.

After the vote count, Nikšić won 12,508 votes, or 64 percent of the total number of votes cast.

He said that in the SDP there is room for everyone and that SDP members have shown the unity of the Social Democratic Party.

- This is a historic day for the SDP BiH, but also for the entire BiH. Because only a strong SDP is a guarantee for a strong BiH - said President Nikšić.

The results of the internal party elections will be officially confirmed within four days, although it is already clear who the convincing winner is.

Only Emir Đikić, one of the three candidates from Sarajevo, arrived at tonight's press conference. He won 586 votes. Miro Lazović won 1,243 votes, Jasmin Imamović 4,689 votes, and Svetozar Pudarić 392 votes.

Nikšić thanked the SDP members who came out to vote today and announced the gathering and unification of the left, strengthening the SDP, and building a strong BiH.
