Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić and Federal Minister of Finance Ante Krajina received a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today, led by Head of Mission for BiH Ron van Rooden, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The focus of the talks, held at the headquarters of the Federal Government in Sarajevo, was on issues related to the eighth quarterly review under the IV stand-by arrangement signed by BiH with the IMF, upon which the disbursement of a new credit tranche depends.
Ron van Rooden emphasized the excellent cooperation achieved between the IMF and the Government of the FBiH, which, under difficult conditions, further burdened by this year's floods, managed to maintain control over budgetary funds.
The Head of the IMF Mission also expressed satisfaction that a whole series of laws have been adopted in the FBiH that positively affect the business environment, and that public spending has been further reduced through the Rebalancing of the Budget for 2014.
According to the federal prime minister, the Government of the FBiH has been committed to fulfilling its obligations from day one.
- As long as we are in this position, we will maintain fiscal discipline and responsibility - said Nikšić.
Minister Krajina said that the implementation of the FBiH Budget for 2014 is proceeding within the set frameworks. He also pointed out that the Draft Budget of the FBiH for 2015 is 5.3 percent smaller compared to this year's, and that the Federal Government has sent it to the parliamentary procedure.
