Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić will visit the Vatican and the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, at the end of the week, confirmed "Večernje novosti" from diplomatic sources, reports the news agency Patria.
Nikolić set off on a visit to the Vatican on April 17, but was forced to return to Belgrade due to a malfunction of the state plane.
The visit had to be cancelled at the time, but diplomatic preparations for the meeting, which will most likely take place in a few days, also began, the newspaper states.
