Delegates will not consider the Budget revision either, Nikšić promised money in the coming days for children with cystic fibrosis

(Patria) - The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tomislav Martinović, reported today at the session that the Government of the FBiH has submitted an act stating that, for the purpose of revision, the Proposal for a Decision on amendments to the budget of the Federation of BiH for this year, as well as the Proposal for a Law on amendments to the Law on the execution of the FBiH budget for this year, are being withdrawn from the parliamentary procedure.

Earlier, the same proposal was also withdrawn from the session of the House of Representatives of the PFBiH.

Given that the amendments to the financial plan of the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute, i.e., the decision to give prior consent to these amendments to the financial plan of the Federal Solidarity Fund for 2023, are closely related to the budget revision, it follows that the delegates cannot consider this item today either.

This budget revision also concerned the funds that should be allocated to children with cystic fibrosis, who have no time for parliamentary games.

The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, commented on the difficult situation faced by children with cystic fibrosis and their parents.

Nikšić held a meeting today with the parents of children with cystic fibrosis, about which he also posted on his Facebook profile.

He said he is fully aware of the severity of the situation in which children with cystic fibrosis find themselves, along with their parents, and the urgency of procuring the medication.

"Children cannot wait. In that sense, we have done everything we can to procure the medication as soon as possible. The funds will be transferred to the Institute in the next few days. Both we and the parents know that this is only the first part of the solution. The harder part, the systemic one, is something we must focus on," he said.

He considers it important that the Government of the FBiH shows sensitivity and a great willingness to find a solution.

"I appreciate the understanding and willingness to cooperate and help each other on that path, of the parents and the Association. It is difficult to care for sick children and try to find justification for procedures and system shortcomings. These parents, together with their children, are true heroes. Everything we manage to do to help and ease their burden, to some extent, and I hope completely, will certainly be our moral and human victory and, ultimately, our duty. Sick children are not a social case, but an equal part of society to whom we are obliged to provide the necessary help and care," he concluded.
