Unemployment in the US is at its lowest level in seven years, reports the Patria News Agency.
In August, 173,000 new jobs were created, and the unemployment rate fell to 5.1 percent, according to official data released today. The increase in jobs for July was revised to 245,000 from the previously reported 215,000.
"Employment data is good enough for the Fed's decision to raise interest rates, but the big question is whether volatility in financial markets will disrupt those plans," Alan Ruskin from Deutsche Bank told Reuters, writes Index.
